BANANA REPUBLIC

Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall. Every season (even that pretentious fake one, “Resort”) brought a new adventure at Banana Republic. I cut my teeth here as a copywriter and also formed the first of many great art director/copywriter partnerships.

Banana Republic’s in-house agency was small, but mighty, and solely responsible for creating multiple, multimillion-dollar seasonal advertising campaigns per year. From strategy to concepts to production to rollout. Repeat!

And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

During my 6-year tenure as Head of Copy, my team’s responsibilities beyond brand advertising ran the gamut, from digital content and direct mail to PR, Loyalty/Relationship Marketing and Events. Also included were all in-store customer touchpoints: store windows, signage, promotions, product naming and product packaging.

I often wonder how we did it all…
